fear
Strong's number 3374
yir-aw' ; feminine of 3373; fear [also used as infinitive]; morally reverence

Unfortunately the word 'fear' has come to mean 'something to be afraid of'. But at one time it also meant someone or something you reverenced as well. I have included here every reference in the bible to the word 'fear' that in the original language actually means reverence.
It is my hope that this will dispel the myth that His children are to be afraid of God our Father. If you are saved then you never have to be afraid of God anymore because He is now your Father. While some people mistake God for thier earthly father, they don't have to. Judge God on His own merits. We should never judge God based on what others do. God says He does not lie, so if I lie or someone else lies then why should I think that God lies? Silly isn't it. Yet we often think that because God is our Father IF we are saved we now think that for some reason He will act like our earthly fathers. No matter how good or evil our earthly fathers are, they will never compare to God as our Father. So judge God on His own word.
Worship God simply because He is God and you will do well. Remember, God is our Father and not to be feared.
So look over these verses and mark your bible so that you know that these verses mean to reverence God, not be afraid of Him.
Where it says reverence and not fear, I have put in the word revenrece. Where it says fear and means fear, I have left it as fear.
Enjoy and God bless.
